Hi I watched total wipeout and to be honest I am quite disappointed with it.
Don't get me wrong its not a bad show dont get me wrong but it is just pale in comparison to the American one
Flaws:
The presenter Richard Hammond does very little with the comedic opportunity's available for example in the American one the two of them like to insult the 24 contestants a lot but Hammond does not do much to make the situation funny.
To be honest a plank of wood Would be more optimistic at presenting the show.
Hire Craig Charles I reckon
Obstacles
Nothing new obstacles wise so far Qualifiers kept the same staples Big balls, Sucker Punch
The sweeper today episode featured no sort of distraction such as the crow-bar or dodge balls
Dizzy dummy a new process of elimination its starts off with 6 competitors who ever is the last finish one side of obstacles is knocked out of the tournament until the 3 finalist remain
The wipeout zone still features killer surf, barrel run and the Spinner but a supposedly spinning bar balance bar replaces 2 of the 4 launch pads
The total prize money is £10,000 which equals to about $22500
Now the bit i hate all the unnecessary explaining of the contestants and their route to the next round
The American version deals with it fine just a quick interview and their off but not with this one more than half the show is just talking to the contestants
This is how many each round eliminates
Qualifier 20 -> 12
Sweeper 12-> 6
Semi Final 6 ->3
Final 3->1
Plus sides:
There is a nice trophy for the winner
thats it ...
No noticeable wipeouts so far
This is all just from a 15 year old's perspective perhaps someone else will voice their opinion
